Access for every reader
Accessibility statement
We want travellers to be able to read, navigate and understand Mombasa Rentals regardless of device, input method or disability.
Our accessibility goal
We aim to make the website reasonably usable in line with the principles of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines, with WCAG 2.2 Level AA as our target. This is a continuing goal rather than a claim that every page or third-party service is already free from barriers.
Measures used on the website
- semantic headings and landmarks that give pages a logical structure;
- a skip link for keyboard and screen-reader users;
- visible keyboard focus and links that can be used without a mouse;
- text and controls designed for readable contrast;
- responsive layouts that work on narrow screens and at larger text sizes;
- descriptive alternative text for informative images;
- captions and source information where images add editorial meaning;
- plain labels for buttons and commercial links;
- tables that can be scrolled on smaller screens; and
- content written in clear language with abbreviations explained where needed.
Third-party content
Some external booking platforms, advertising services, maps or linked documents are controlled by third parties. Their accessibility can differ from ours. We try to provide enough surrounding context for the reader to understand why a link is offered, but we cannot directly change another provider’s interface.
Known and possible limitations
Interactive maps can be difficult for some keyboard and screen-reader users, so important orientation information should also appear in the surrounding text. Wide comparison tables may require horizontal scrolling on a small screen. Older third-party documents may not have a fully accessible text structure.
As the website grows, a page or image may occasionally miss the intended standard. Reports help us find and prioritise those problems.
Request help or report a barrier
If you cannot access a guide or complete an intended action, email hello@mombasarentals.com. Please include:
- the page URL;
- the device, browser or assistive technology used, if you are comfortable sharing it;
- what you were trying to do; and
- the format or adjustment that would help.
We will review the request and, where reasonably possible, provide the information in another accessible format or correct the barrier. We do not require a person to disclose a diagnosis.
Ongoing review
Accessibility is considered when creating templates, selecting colours, adding images, building tables and introducing new commercial or interactive tools. This statement will be revised when our practices or known limitations materially change.
