What an affiliate link is
An affiliate link contains tracking information that lets a partner know that a visitor came from Mombasa Rentals. If the visitor completes an eligible transaction within the partner’s attribution period, the partner may pay us a commission.
The price, availability, cancellation rules and contract are controlled by the partner or supplier. Using an affiliate link should not increase the price solely because it is an affiliate link, although prices can change for many other reasons.
Current and planned relationships
Mombasa Rentals intends to participate in the Booking.com and Viator affiliate programmes. We may add other accommodation, activity, transport, insurance or travel-service partners when they are relevant to our readers and compatible with our editorial standards.
A link to a company does not always mean we have an affiliate relationship with it. Official source links, map links and non-commercial references may be included without compensation.
How affiliate links are identified
An article containing affiliate links will carry a plain-language disclosure. Commercial buttons use labels such as “Check current room rates”, “Compare available stays” or “Check tour availability” and identify the destination platform in the surrounding text.
We do not hide commercial destinations, manufacture urgency or describe a limited number of rooms unless that information comes from an authorised live integration and can be displayed under the partner’s rules.
How we protect editorial independence
- A property, activity or service must help answer the reader’s question before an affiliate link is considered.
- A higher commission does not justify a higher ranking or the removal of an important limitation.
- We define the criteria behind “best” recommendations and describe who may prefer another option.
- We do not imply a personal stay, meal or tour when it did not happen.
- Affiliate companies do not write or approve our articles unless the relationship is explicitly disclosed.
- A guide must remain useful to a reader who never clicks a commercial link.
Bookings, payments and support
Mombasa Rentals does not take the booking, charge the traveller or hold reservation funds. The traveller enters into a transaction with the named platform or supplier after leaving our website. That company’s terms, privacy policy, payment process and cancellation rules apply.
Questions about a confirmed booking, refund, cancellation, payment or supplier service must be directed to the company shown on the confirmation. We can correct our editorial description or a broken link, but we cannot alter a partner reservation.
Tracking and privacy
