Advertising policy
Advertising can help fund our guides, but it does not purchase editorial coverage, approval or a favourable conclusion.
Display advertising
Mombasa Rentals plans to use Google AdSense and may use another reputable advertising service in the future. Display advertisements will be visually distinguishable from editorial content and may be labelled “Advertisement”, “Ad” or with another clear advertising label.
Advertisements may be selected or personalised by the advertising provider based on the page, approximate location, device information, previous activity or the visitor’s consent choices. Mombasa Rentals does not manually endorse every advertisement that an automated network displays.
Editorial separation
- Advertisers do not receive advance approval of independent articles.
- Buying an advertisement does not guarantee editorial coverage.
- An advertiser cannot purchase a ranking in a “best” guide without the placement being clearly identified as advertising.
- Editorial staff may remove or criticise an option when the evidence supports that decision, regardless of advertising activity.
- Advertisements must not be designed to look like site navigation or an independent recommendation.
Sponsored content
If Mombasa Rentals accepts sponsored content, payment or another material benefit will be disclosed prominently near the beginning of the page. Sponsored content will not be labelled as an independent review, and factual claims remain subject to our editorial standards.
We may refuse a campaign that is misleading, unsuitable for travellers, inconsistent with responsible tourism or likely to damage reader trust.
Affiliate links are different from display ads
An affiliate link may earn a commission after a qualifying booking, while a display advertisement is generally served or paid for as an advertisement. Both relationships are disclosed, but neither permits a commercial party to control our independent editorial conclusions. Read the affiliate disclosure for details.
Advertising data and cookies
Google and other advertising partners may use cookies, IP addresses, web beacons or similar identifiers to deliver, measure and protect advertising. Our privacy policy explains the categories of information involved, and the cookie policy explains visitor choices.
Google provides more information about how it uses data from sites that use its services and offers advertising controls through My Ad Center.
Report an unsuitable advertisement
If an advertisement appears misleading, offensive, unsafe or unrelated to the standards of this website, email hello@mombasarentals.com. Include the page URL, a description and a screenshot where practical. Automated ads can vary between visitors, so those details help us investigate.
